Oleg is autistic and cannot live by himself. He and his brother Ivan live on the outskirts of a small town in a house surrounded by marshes and lakes. Oleg’s daily routine must be strictly regimented. Ivan cares affectionately for his brother, but he soon reaches his limits, as there is hardly any room for his own needs.

On New Year's Eve Yana sees dreams about her early childhood and about the summer days in the village where her family used to live. Yana surfs in the Internet and finds the confirmation, that life in that village is still going on. She goes to a place she hasn't visited for 20 years to celebrate the New Year there
